My name is Frankie Buckle and I set up the SciArt in Cambridge group because I wanted to meet people who have the same passions as myself. I wanted to create a community around communicating science and scientific concepts in different ways to increase the reach of science and the work of scientists.
I have always loved the creative "out of the box" thinking required in science and the investigatory and evaluative processes of creating artwork. I am passionate about how art is able to interpret scientific concepts and communicate them in different ways to different audiences.
Back in the day, I studied foundation studies in Art & Design at University of the Arts London (Chelsea). I have a BSc in Biology with Oceanography (University of Southampton) and an MSc in Biological Photography and Imaging (University of Nottingham).
