Hello there!
My name is Frankie Buckle and I set up SciArt.org.uk because I wanted to meet people who have the same passion as me.
My interest in SciArt began back at school before I even knew to call it “SciArt”. I have always been passionate about both art and science and where often they are seen as opposite ends of the academic spectrum, I have always looked for opportunities to combine these throughout my educational and professional life.
This approach has led me along the zigzagging, somewhat unusual path of an art foundation year at Chelsea Art College, followed by a Biology and Oceanography degree, followed by a Biological Photography and Imaging Masters, followed by a graphic design job at a microscope company!
I am passionate about how art is able to interpret scientific concepts and communicate them in different ways to different audiences.
I see myself as a Connector and Consultant:
I love to introduce people to other people in the name of collaboration - seeing what culminates as a result of my introductions give me such a buzz.
I am available for consulting on Science Engagement, SciArt Awareness and how to get the most out of creative/scientific events. I have a vast network of creative people with the most fascinating backgrounds and experience that I often call on for inspiration!
